Gwen Lomberk
Dr. Lomberk is Tenured Professor and the Joel and Arlene Lee Endowed Chair in Pancreatic Cancer Research in the Department of Surgery with a joint appointment in the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She also serves as the Chief of the Division of Research and Director of Basic Science Research for the Department of Surgery, as well as Co-Leader for the Precision Oncology Initiative for MCW Cancer Center. Her research program has explored novel combination strategies targeting genetic-to-epigenetic pathways to treat pancreatic cancer through elucidating the function of epigenomic regulators at the intersection of DNA replication and DNA repair, in efforts to enhance future use of epigenomic-based pharmacology as a robust tool in therapeutic strategies. Broader research interests are focused on the epigenetic landscapes that characterize pancreatic cancer subtypes, as well as refining the utility of epigenetic inhibitors for treatment and re-sensitization to conventional therapies.
