Dezső Kelemen
Dezső Kelemen, MD, is full professor of surgery, as well as the Vice-Chairman of the Department of Surgery, Medical School, Clinical Center, University of Pécs, Pécs, Hungary. He studied medicine at the University of Debrecen, Debrecen, Hungary. He received his general and vascular surgical training, then the PhD degree and the habilitation at the University of Pécs. He did the Alexander von Humboldt research fellowship under the mentorship of Professor Hans Beger at the Department of General Surgery, University of Ulm, then at the Department of Visceral and Transplantation Surgery, University of Heidelberg, under the mentorship of Professor Markus Büchler, with a focus on the new treatment modalities of pancreatic diseases. Dezső Kelemen has developed effective technical innovations in the field of pancreatic surgery, namely a new method for pancreatic remnant closure during distal pancreatectomy and a modification of purse-string suture pancreatojejunostomy.
